Terms of participation
Short and fair. These are the rules under which we organise the gathering. Please read them before applying.
1. Organiser
The organiser of the event is Jakub Popluhar, Albertgasse 34/4, 1080 Vienna. Full contact details are in the Impressum.
2. Nature of the event
ČS Dating Wien is a private, informal gathering for a limited circle of invited guests from the Slovak and Czech community in Vienna. It is not a public event, nor a commercial dating service. The organiser does not guarantee any romantic outcome, only a high-quality, safe environment and interesting people in the room.
3. Application and selection
Participation is possible only on the basis of a completed application and its individual approval by the organiser. The organiser reserves the right to reject an application without giving a reason, the aim being to put together a balanced and high-quality group.
Approval of the application and confirmation of participation will be sent to you by email no later than 24 hours before the gathering.
4. Participant contribution and payment
The standard participant contribution is €69. Until 1 June 2026, the code EDITION1 is available, reducing the contribution by €30 and including a welcome drink (final amount €39). The contribution covers the cost of venue booking, refreshments and coordination.
Payment is made online via the Stripe payment gateway when you submit your application. The organiser never sees your card number; these details are processed exclusively by Stripe.
If the organiser rejects your application, the full amount will be returned to the original payment method within 72 hours of the decision.
5. Cancellation conditions
| Situation | Resolution |
|---|---|
| The organiser rejects your application | 100% refund within 72 hours |
| You cancel 7 or more days before the gathering | Full-value voucher for the next edition |
| You cancel less than 7 days before the gathering | No refund and no voucher |
| Illness with a medical certificate delivered within 24 hours after the gathering | Full-value voucher for the next edition |
The 7-day cut-off exists because by that point we have already booked the venue, ordered the refreshments and held a seat that can no longer be offered to anyone else. We are looking for people who are committed to coming, not for those who want to drop by "to have a look".
Please send any cancellation or voucher request by email to jakub@popluhar.at.
6. Code of conduct
By participating, you confirm that:
- You are of legal age and are applying on your own behalf (not on behalf of someone else).
- You will treat other guests and the organisers with respect.
- You will not record audio or video of other guests without their explicit consent.
- You accept that in the event of repeated inappropriate behaviour (harassment, aggression, intoxication) you may be asked to leave the gathering without any refund.
7. Photographs
Photographs will be taken at the gathering for the organiser's use. These photographs may be used in marketing (social media, the website, promotion of further editions).
If you do not wish your photograph to be used, or if you later want it removed, simply send an email to jakub@popluhar.at and the photograph will be removed.
No photographs will be published before the gathering itself, nor outside the context of the event.
8. Exclusion of liability
The organiser creates the setting and invites the guests. The organiser is not liable for:
- The romantic or any other personal outcome of the gathering.
- The conduct of individual participants towards each other before, during or after the gathering.
- Loss of personal items at the venue.
- Damage caused by third parties (the venue, the bar operator, suppliers).
9. Force majeure
If the gathering cannot take place for reasons outside the organiser's control (official restrictions, natural events, loss of the venue), all confirmed guests will receive a voucher for the next edition, or, at their choice, a full refund.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Austria (the place of the organiser's seat and the place where the event is held). Any disputes will be settled by the competent court in Vienna.
11. Data protection
The rules for processing your personal data are described in detail in the document Privacy policy.
